Automation Simulation

Robotic & Discrete Event Simulation

Simulation has transformed how automation is engineered, designed and deployed into a manufacturing operation. For over 20 years, we have developed and applied our simulation expertise in thousands of projects, in thousands of systems, for hundreds of companies in multitudes of industries. Today, Digital Simulation and Manufacturing is at the core of our expertise.

Robotic Simulation

Robotic Simulation is used to validate operations and processes prior to making major investments in capital equipment. It allows us to digitally simulate robotic applications where we can design, develop and validate offline, test elements of the design like reach characteristics, fine tune the tooling design and evaluate equipment placement in a virtual 3D world. The results reduce integration and installation time and costs.

Utilizing Robotic Simulation allows the ability to:

  • Conceptualize robotic processes
  • Validate mechanical designs
  • Prepare offline robot programming
  • Analyze and recommend robotic work cell safety elements
  • Validate and optimize cycle times
  • Optimize and plan entire facilities
  • Reduce lead time for system installation and commissioning
  • Mitigate risk
  • Optimize the productivity and utilization of equipment
  • Set lean manufacturing practices

Discrete Event Simulation

Discrete Event Simulation is used to improve throughput by identifying hidden bottlenecks in production lines or facilities with hundreds of interconnected processes. It is the science of modeling an entire system with key events and processes that are expected to occur, helping to predict the performance and behavior of the system over a period of time. The results are used to refine the process to ensure the most efficient system.

Utilizing Discrete Event Simulation allows the ability to:

  • Model and statistically analyze a full system
  • Conceptualize the production process
  • Plan the facilities with optimized operations
  • Optimize the productivity and utilization of equipment
  • Set lean manufacturing practices
  • Mitigate risk
  • Balance production lines with the scheduling process
