Presentation

Demystifying Mixed Load De-Palletization

Friday, March 21, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Komatke Ballroom E

Join Craig Salvalaggio for an in-depth look at mixed product palletizing and depalletizing in action. He’ll showcase real-world scenarios, explore how vision technology and software enable new automation possibilities, and present two case studies on robotic case induction in processing facilities.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the right and wrong applications for AMRs
  • Determine whether to implement AMRs in-house or partner with a system integrator
  • Understand key factors in selecting the right system integrator

Automation continues to evolve, requiring the coordinated integration of material handling equipment, sensor technology, conveyance, and software to operate efficiently at high speeds. Labor challenges further complicate production, making it essential to adopt best-in-class technologies that address complexity—especially in the food industry. The manufacturing line of the future will rely on more efficient picking and sorting technology, reducing errors and increasing reliability across various packaging formats.

Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are transforming manufacturing and industrial operations, delivering new levels of flexibility and efficiency. AMT has extensive hands-on experience deploying AMRs across different facility environments and collaborating with system integrators (SIs) to maximize their potential. By leveraging this advanced automation technology, manufacturers can significantly improve throughput, quality, and safety.

In this session, Craig Salvalaggio will explore the role of AMRs in modern production, detailing the opportunities and challenges system integrators face in their integration. He will also break down mixed product palletizing and depalletizing applications, showcasing how vision technology and software are enabling new solutions. Through real-world case studies and expert insights, this discussion will provide practical guidance for enterprises considering or implementing AMRs—demonstrating how strategic partnerships with SIs can drive success in industrial automation.
